Freemasonry is supported by a family of related organizations, known as Appendant and Affiliated Bodies, which expand upon the teachings, fellowship, and charitable work of the Craft Lodge.
These bodies offer Master Masons—and in some cases their families—opportunities for further education, deeper study of Masonic philosophy, community service, and leadership development. Participation is entirely voluntary, and each body provides its own unique traditions, rituals, and contributions to the Masonic family.
